PubMatic Appointed as a Monetization Partner for Tencent Online Media Group’s Ad Inventory Outside of China
PubMatic, the marketing automation software company for publishers, today announced it will become one of the partners for Tencent Online Media Group (“OMG”) to identify and optimize global advertising revenue opportunities from Tencent OMG’s ad inventory outside of mainland China.
This partnership exemplifies PubMatic’s strong position in the global mobile monetization market. Following the company’s 200 percent year-on-year growth in mobile revenue in the first half of 2015, this partnership with Tencent OMG represents a new milestone for PubMatic’s continued success in the Asia-Pacific region.
With this agreement, PubMatic will join a select group of marketing firms to help monetize Tencent OMG’s online advertising inventory across its multiple platforms including QQ.com, v.QQ.com and Tencent Video App outside of China. In addition, the overseas mobile inventory of Tencent OMG will be added to PubMatic’s extensive premium mobile inventory to widen the reach for its roster of global advertisers.

The global mobile advertising market currently stands at $72 billion, and is projected to grow to nearly $200 billion by 2019, according to eMarketer. These findings are mirrored by PubMatic’s recent Quarterly Mobile Index (QMI) report for Q4 2015, which indicates that mobile growth is being driven by higher CPMs, compared to desktop. The QMI also found that the volume of monetized mobile impressions in the Asia-Pacific region grew a dramatic 524 percent year-over-year in Q4 2015.
