Partnership between Panasonic and UNESCO
Panasonic has collaborated with the UNESCO World Heritage Centre since 1995 to publish the World Heritage Calendar. Panasonic and the UNESCO World Heritage Centre concluded a strategic partnership agreement in June 2011 to promote sustainable development through World Heritage conservation and environmental education for the next generation. Through this partnership, Panasonic promoted joint programs in the fields of 'education for the next generation', 'communication', and 'technological support'.
In the field of 'education for the next generation', Panasonic hosted the 'World Heritage Eco Learning Program'. This program, a collaboration between Panasonic, the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and selected World Heritage sites, offered children the opportunity to visit world heritage sites around the world and learn about UNESCO's work. Since 2008, approximately 4,500 children from 16 countries at 23 cites took part in this program.
In addition, Panasonic also held the 'Eco Diary Picture Contest', where children introduce their own unique global environment conservation in the form of a picture diary. The global contest award ceremony was held twice at UNESCO Headquarters. Since 2008, approximately 970,000 children from 51 countries participated in the contest.
In the field of 'communication', Panasonic worked in partnership with the National Geographic Channel to present a World Heritage-focused television program called 'THE WORLD HERITAGE SPECIAL'. The program was broadcasted in 193 countries around the world.
In the field of 'technological support', Panasonic supplied its audio visual systems, such as its High Definition Video Communication system, and other AV equipment to UNESCO Headquarters. In addition, Panasonic established a project to replace incandescent light bulbs with energy-saving LED lights at World Heritage sites worldwide. World Heritage sites which now use LED lights include Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto, Japan and the Hradcani Castle in Prague, Czech Republic.
Future collaboration with UNESCO
Panasonic will continue its collaboration with the UNESCO World Heritage Centre to publish the World Heritage Calendar. The calendar is available in both the printed version as well as on the World Heritage Calendar application for computers, smartphones and tablets. This application has been distributed to UNESCO associated schools worldwide as an educational tool.
Through the World Heritage Calendar, Panasonic and UNESCO will continue to contribute to the understanding of conservation of World Heritage sites as well as to the education of the next generation.

Koza Altin Welcomes Court’s Rejection of Akin Ipek’s Share Purchase Agreement13.7.2018 15:58 | Pressemelding
A Turkish Court has found against businessman Akin Ipek this week – ruling that a share purchase agreement, which he had submitted as vital evidence in support of his case against the Turkish state, is null and void. The matter was brought to the Ankara Commercial Court in March 2017 by Koza Holding (parent company of Koza Altin) which, according to Mr Ipek’s share purchase agreement, purportedly transferred all of its shares to Ipek Investment Limited. Koza Holding filed the lawsuit for legal recognition that the share purchase agreement is void. The ruling in Turkey follows on from an earlier judgment set down by the English High Court, which rejected Mr Ipek’s attempt to use up to £3m of UK subsidiary Koza Ltd’s money to fund a claim against the Turkish State at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). In the English ruling, Deputy Judge Richard Spearman QC declared the “authenticity” of the share purchase agreement as “open to very serious doubt”. The
