GSMA Launches Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2017
The GSMA today announced the first details of the 2017 GSMA Mobile World Congress Shanghai, including confirmed exhibitors and sponsors, as well as a range of programmes and activities taking place at the annual mobile industry event. Under the theme of “The Human Element”, Mobile World Congress Shanghai will be held from Wednesday, 28 June through Saturday, 1 July 2017 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). The GSMA expects that more than 65,000 attendees will participate in the Shanghai event, including professionals from across the mobile industry and adjacent sectors, as well as consumers.

International Smart City Expo To Be Part of Mobile World Congress Shanghai
The GSMA has signed an agreement with Pudong New Area Commission of Commerce, Pudong Science and Economy Commission and Shanghai Wistropolitan Exhibition Company Limited to incorporate The International Smart City Expo – Shanghai Pudong in Mobile World Congress Shanghai.

This year, the Mobile World Congress Shanghai exhibition is expanding to seven halls at the SNIEC, including both “Industry Halls” and “Experience Halls”. Mobile World Congress Shanghai: Largest Carbon Neutral Event in Asia
Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2016 has been officially certified by the British Standards Institute as carbon neutral under the international PAS 2060 standard, reinforcing its position as the largest carbon neutral exhibition and conference in Asia. For 2016, the GSMA implemented a range of measures to reduce emissions for Mobile World Congress Shanghai, resulting in a greenhouse gas reduction of more than 54 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent. To offset the total remaining carbon footprint of approximately 18,300 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent, the GSMA is supporting United Nations-certified projects including a wind power project in Liaoning province in China, as well as a small hydropower project in Guanxi province, China.

A Turkish Court has found against businessman Akin Ipek this week – ruling that a share purchase agreement, which he had submitted as vital evidence in support of his case against the Turkish state, is null and void. The matter was brought to the Ankara Commercial Court in March 2017 by Koza Holding (parent company of Koza Altin) which, according to Mr Ipek’s share purchase agreement, purportedly transferred all of its shares to Ipek Investment Limited. Koza Holding filed the lawsuit for legal recognition that the share purchase agreement is void. The ruling in Turkey follows on from an earlier judgment set down by the English High Court, which rejected Mr Ipek’s attempt to use up to £3m of UK subsidiary Koza Ltd’s money to fund a claim against the Turkish State at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). AerSale ® announced today that the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC) has approved the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA’s) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the company’s AerSafe™ system on Airbus 321 aircraft (ST04010NY), that complies with the Fuel Tank Flammability Reduction (FTFR) rule. This is the second ANAC STC approval for AerSafe, following approval on Boeing 737 CL aircraft in 2017.
