Actility Launches ThingPark Approved Programme to Simplify and Accelerate IoT Solution Deployment
LoRa Alliance All Member Meeting, Munich: 21 July 2016
Actility, the industry leader in low power wide area networking, and the innovator behind the ThingPark LPWA IoT platform, today announces the launch of the “ThingPark Approved” programme, and welcomes its first partners to obtain the ThingPark Approved status. Covering the solution spectrum from sensors and modules to gateways and ultimately applications, ThingPark Approved products are evaluated across a range of interfaces and integration points to ensure interoperability within an end to end solution. Highlighting the diversity of partners in the ThingPark Ecosystem, Actility is delighted to announce ThingPark Approved status for Adeunis RF, AllThingsTalk, ATIM, Daliworks, Expemb, Finsecur, Flashnet, Foxconn, Globalsat, IMST, Kerlink, Microchip, MultiTech, MyDevices, Nemeus, NKE-Watteco, Omniimpex, Rising HF and Sensing Labs.
“One of the key challenges in making the IoT a global reality is to simplify the process of creating and deploying end to end solutions,“ says Actility Vice President for Ecosystem Christophe Francois. “Even today, there are thousands of potential solution components from hundreds of suppliers, the ecosystem is exploding. Open standards and certification programmes have a key role to play, but they address specific technology requirements. ThingPark Approved is a business enabler, not a certification programme. It allows partners in our ecosystem to feel confident that they can rely on interoperability with any other product or service found in the ThingPark Marketplace.”
“We are very proud to be approved by ThingPark and join this family.” comments Alpha Tsai, EVP of GlobalSat, “GlobalSat is among the very first LoRa adaptors in Asia. We have spent tremendous effort in promoting LoRa applications. Actility is our first choice network provider thanks to their reliability and instant support. We have gone through intensive interoperability testing to provide customers the easiest integration from end-node to application platform through the ThingPark environment.”
“It’s a great opportunity for Expemb to work with Actility, to master the unique challenges and opportunities offered by the industrial IoT,” adds Franck Priou, IoT & M2M Market Manager at Expemb. “We are delighted to offer our ThingPark Approved gateways, simple and scalable connection solutions which promote greater adoption of industrial IoT. We strive to better meet the needs of businesses to access their data, allowing them to focus on the development of their business applications.”
“By combining Actility ThingPark with myDevices’ Cayenne, the world’s first drag and drop IoT project builder, we have provided smart cities and enterprise customers with the ability to quickly prototype and deploy large-scale IoT projects,” explains Kevin Bromber, CEO myDevices. “This partnership will enable end customers to select from a growing list of LoRa sensors, motors and actuators that can be combined into a single project where remote monitoring, data visualization, triggered events and SMS/email notifications can be assembled and deployed for a variety of use cases.”
“We are pleased to be among the first ThingPark Approved gateway and module vendors for Actility LoRaWAN networks,” says Daniel Quant, Vice President of Product Management and Strategic Marketing at MultiTech. “With Actility software preloaded on our new Conduit LoRa Starter Kit, Actility and MultiTech make developing and deploying LoRaWAN-based IoT applications easier than ever.”
The ThingPark Approved Programme offers a complete business accelerator to fast-track IoT solutions to market. ThingPark partners can connect and test their products and achieve ThingPark Approved status, interact with other solution providers in the ThingPark ecosystem, and then market and sell their solutions in the ThingPark MarketPlace. The straightforward process will be managed through the ThingPark Partner website. ThingPark Approved partners will have opportunities to participate in co-marketing activity, and all will be able to display the ThingPark Approved logo on their products, collateral and web-sites. The ThingPark Partner web-site will be open for business early August, after completing its pilot phase. It will be accessible at: www.partners.thingpark.com
The ThingPark Approved programme is the latest step in the development of Actility’s ThingPark IoT solutions platform. Alongside ThingPark Marketplace, it also comprises the ThingPark Wireless LPWA network, and ThingPark Mash-up, an open API data mediation platform.
“The launch of the ThingPark Approved programme clearly demonstrates the growing maturity of the ThingPark ecosystem,” concludes Actility CEO Mike Mulica. “We’re delighted that such a diverse group of partners have stepped up to launch the programme and take advantage of the go-to-market acceleration that it delivers.”
